The 49ers have a great dynasty of American football. they have won five super bowl championships during the 80’s and 90’s and have had legendary players like john Montana and steve young. they are tied for the most super bowl wins with the dallas cowboys. only the steelers have more super bowl wins then them.the interesting name of the 49ers came from back in 1949 when gold diggers came to San Fransisco looking for gold and they were nicknamed by the locals the 49ers. so the team became the 49ers from that fact.
